Riding The Route
No liability whatsoever shall attach to Ultimate Ventures Limited, Race Around Ireland, sponsors, in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by the Rider in or by reason of the challenge, unless such injury, loss or damage is proven to be caused by the negligence of the aforementioned.
Riders are deemed to be on a private excursion on a public highway and the organisers take no responsibility for their conduct.
Each Rider accepts that the challenge they are entering is a non-competitive cycling challenge and is, in no way, a race of any kind but merely a personal challenge.
Each Rider is fully responsible for their actions and personal belongings whilst riding the route. We do not accept responsibility for the actions of the rider nor the consequences of such actions.
You agree that you are physically and mentally fit and capable of riding the distance you have chosen. If, during the cycle, you decide to change the route and distance, then all consequences of this action are yours.
Riders, Cycles and Cycling Equipment
You should wear a helmet during the ride.
You should make sure that the bike you are riding and all of your equipment is of a suitable standard and state of road worthiness suitable for the route and distance selected.
You should wear adequate clothing and be suitably equipped to deal with adverse weather.
You should ideally have your own personal accident and third-party insurance. No Rider insurance is provided by us.
E-bikes should be fully compliant with Irish law.
The Routes
All routes, and detailed information sent out to you, included within the purchase fee paid are indicative only. Despite our best efforts to keep the route book and .gpx files as up‐to‐date as possible, the route may change due to local authority works. We will endeavour to let you know of any changes we may be made aware of.
All routes purchased are for guidance only and we do not insist that any Rider uses the routes shown. Therefore, if the Rider chooses to ride a section, it is entirely at their own choice.
If you choose a different route to avoid obstacles or sections you decide are beyond your capabilities, we will assess your completion of the challenge and you may still receive your section certificate.
If there is a diversion on the route by any local authority on the day you are completing your challenge this will be taken into account and you will still receive your section certificate based on the evidence you submit.
The routebook and .gpx files you are sent, doesn’t guarantee that the road will be completely ride-able on the day you decide to do your challenge. You will make your own decision about whether to proceed on bike, foot, divert or not at all. We will assess your completion of the challenge and you may still receive your section certificate when we assess the evidence you provide.
